Virtual Chemlab Qualitative Inorganic Analysis: Version 1

This software offers an easy-to-use simulation of a qualitative analysis lab and can be used for pre-or post-lab activities, to supplement wet labs, or to replace wet labs if time is an issue. The program is available both in single-user and networked versions. The application provides 25 cations that users can add in any order and in any combination. Users can add any of 11 reagents to separate and identify the cations. Over 1 x 10"16" experimental combinations are possible. The results presented after each step are based on real data captured in the laboratory as pictures or video. Presented results are from real data recorded in the laboratory: 2500 real pictures and over 200 QuickTime videos. Built-in help screens include one that shows users what is in their test-tube as they add chemicals and perform operations (unless they have an unknown).
