SRA Reading Labs SRA's Reading Labs provides wide reading experiences giving students the background knowledge they need to develop the schema needed to be successful in content area reading. They provide high-interest fiction or nonfiction reading selections that include accompanying illustrations or photographs. They include a Comprehension section that contains multileveled questions about the reading selection. The Comprehension questions cover such skills as: Drawing Conclusion Cause and Effect Main Idea Compare and Contrast, etc. They also include a Learn About Words section that includes Vocabulary and Word Study skills exercises. Students record their answers in their own student record book. A chart in the Teacher's Handbook allows the teacher to easily determine which comprehension, vocabulary and word-study skills the student may have difficulty in.
