Mombo is located in a group of islands at the north-western tip of Chief's Island in Moremi Game Reserve. Mombo is located entirely within the Okavango rift system, an area with deep alluvial sand deposits, supporting mixed vegetation of swamps, floodplains, rivers, woodlands and dry woodlands.
