Part of the CDT series, this book looks at designing, basic graphics, principles of aesthetics and ergonomics, materials, working with materials, basic technology, manufacturing technology, product design and project work. "Design and Realisation" offers options for project work and includes colour sections of illustrations for easier understanding. Each book in the series has been specifically written by teachers of the subject area and cover both the National Criteria and the relevant GCSE syllabuses. They provide the technological knowledge needed to undertake a wide range of projects and so it is assumed throughout that the courses are activity-focused. Ideas are developed through all three books in the series and photographs and drawings show examples of the design process in the environment around us. Other features of the book include: a range of graded questions; examples of pupil's own work; a section on project work; a comprehensive index to help pupils work independently.
