The effectiveness of the aphrodisiac is in direct proportion to your cultural and personal belief in it. There are two types of recipes included in this book: ancient and modern. The ancient recipes were compiled from folklore and literature. Since the ancients often sough only to stimulate the passions and not necessarily the palate, some of these archaic concoctions may seem unappetizing, if not noxious. They were included only as curios of man's unceasing search for love foods; it is not recommended to try these ancient philtres. It is recommended that one read the introductory material preceding each chapter, prior to testing the recipes. Index of recipes is included.</p>
