The complexity of today's products and systems and the increased environmental vulnerability indicate that current problems with risk management require a rethinking of safety management design as well as management itself. Product-life is a new approach to technical product safety. Until now, safety and risk have been assessed independently in some stages of a product's existence. Product-life presents a comprehensive and integrated approach to risk management and industrial environmental policy and thus provides for the reduction of potential risks to both the human race and the environment. This volume gives a comprehensive overview of risk assessment and management for products.
