Gruntle Piggle Takes Off was nominated for a Governor General's Award for illustration. Her work has been translated into French, German, Greek, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Japanese and braille. She lives near Elora, Ontario with her sister and great-niece and -nephew, and a menagerie of animals. Rose Cowles is an artist and designer in Victoria, B.C.
