Fly tying is also covered in a refreshingly different light, which concentrates on creating artificials to attract fish. Emphasis is placed firmly on understanding the reasoning behind fly patterns, explaining variations in the same fly to suit different water conditions. Although the book concentrates on fishing for pleasure, additional advice is given for competitions, followed by full descriptions of how to fish the four major English reservoirs. A number of personal anecdotes give further insight into the pleasures and techniques of fly fishing.
